Angel Locsin, real name Angelica Locsin Colmenares was born in Santa Maria, Bulacan, Philippines on April 23, 1985. Locsin finished her elementary education in Bulacan and high school at the University of Santo Tomas High School, Manila. She was discovered by talent scout while she was shopping at a shopping mall.
After her auditioning for several commercials, she was on her way to be part of ABS-CBN's Star Circle Batch 9, but her father, Angelo Colmenares, opposed on the idea. After failing to sign with ABS-CBN due to her father disapproval, she eventually joined and signed with GMA Artist Center. She first started to appear on a 1999 teen-oriented Pinoy TV Series named "Click". She then appeared to a couple of descent GMA shows such as "Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw Pa Rin" and "All Together Now" playing a non-lead star role.
In 2004, she rose to prominence by playing her first lead star role in GMA's primetime hit tv series "Mulawin". She later followed it with star roles on numerous primetime tv shows with GMA such as Mars Ravelo's TV adaptation of "Darna", "Majika" and "Asian Treasures" the first Philippine TV series that was shot in multiple countries such as Mongolia, Thailand and China.
Since then, tv commercials, product endorsements, film projects, started to pile up for her, enhancing her popularity in the Philippines. Eventually being ranked in the top 10 Hottest and Sexiest Women in the Philippines from 2003 till present by different magazines such as "FHM Philippines", "Maxim Philippines" and "Uno Magazine".
Despite her booming career with GMA-7, after her contract with GMA expired on March 2007, she signed an exclusive two-year contract with rival network ABS-CBN On August 11, 2007. Locsin's first project under ABS-CBN was the television series "Lobo". It was later followed by "Only You" which is directed by Rory Quintos and her current tv show which is currently in production entitled "Imortal". She also starred for a couple of episodes for Maalala Mo Kaya" entitled "Pilat" and "Blusa". She's also hosts and performs in the noontime concert tv hit show "ASAP XV".
She also starred in movies such as "Ping Lacson: Supercop", "Mano Po 2", "Kuya", "Singles", "Sigaw", "Mano Po III: My Love", "Let the Love Begin", "Mulawin: The Movie", "I Will Always Love You", "TxT", "Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di", "The Promise", "Angels", "Love Me Again" and her latest under Star Cinema "Love in Heaven" where she paired up with Aga Muhlach which is directed by Olivia Lamasan.

Thanks for this article. Amidst the intrigues that hounds Angel ever since she changed tv station, she remained humble and grounded. Met her in person numerous times and she continiously proved to be an "angel on earth." ;-)
