Precious Lara Quigaman, real name Precious Lara San Agustin Quigaman, is a Filipino beauty queen turned actor, that was born in Taguig on January 3, 1983 in the Philippines. Lara is the eldest among the four children of her raised in Ligao City late father Nelson Quigaman who had worked in Bahrain for a living and her raised in Albay City mother Princesita San Agustin who's a registered nurse .
She was originally raised as a child in Biñan, Laguna then later moved to Bahrain where her late father used to worked. After living for five years abroad, she went back to Philippines in Biñan finishing her secondary education at La Consolacion College and a two year stint in tertiary education at University of Santo Tomas in Manila before moving to England, United Kingdom.
She eventually continued her tertiary education at Filton College in England majoring in Media Production and Communication and also went to Bristol University majoring in Bachelor of Arts in Childhood and Youth Studies.
She's the winner of the 2005 Miss International beauty pageant that was held in Tokyo, Japan. Her win in the Ms. International Beauty pageant made her the fourth Filipino to hold the title of the prestigious crown, succeeding former Binibining Pilipinas International winners such as Gemma Cruz in 1964, Aurora Pijuan in 1970 and Melanie Marquez in 1979.
Together with her two other beauty queen friends Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2002 Karen Loren Agustin and Bb. Pilipinas International 2006 Denille Lou Valena Valmonte, they organized a new beauty pageant with a cause for promoting tourism industry in the Philippines called "Turismo Pilipina", where it's finals was held at at AFP Theater in November 14 of 2008. She also became a Philippines' Laki sa Gatas advocate for Nestle within the same year.
She landed her first acting role on GMA's primetime Pinoy TV show "Encantadia" playing as Cassandra in 2006. She then followed it by landing numerous acting roles in GMA's rival network ABS-CBN, appearing on their primetime TV shows such as "Princess Sarah", "That's My Doc", "Kung Fu Kids", "Dyosa" and her current and first main cast role this 2010 in "May Bukas Pa".
Her first appearance on GMA's rival ABS-CBN network was in the TV episode "Love Spell". She re-appeared for a couple of more times in 2007 for GMA network's TV episodes "Ang Mahiwagang Baul" and "Magpakailanman" where she played the role of herself about her true life story. She then followed it with numerous ABS-CBN TV episodes such as "Maalaala Mo Kaya", "Aalog-Alog", "Your Song" and her most recent TV episode appearance this 2010 in "Precious Hearts Romances Presents".
Lara first debuted as a host in ABS-CBN noontime variety TV hit show "Wowowee" where she was one of the three former lady co-host of the lead host Mr. Willie Revillame. She is now currently the judge for yet another noontime TV hit show "Showtime" for ABS-CBN.
Her debut as a movie actor was in the movie "Umaaraw, umuulan" that was shown in 2006 which is directed by Richard Arellano. She then follwed it with movies such as "Kapag Tumibok ang Puso", "Buenavista" and her most recent "Slowfade" which is an indie film that directed by Rommel Sales whom also is the cinematographer produced by PLDT, Smart Foundation and Cinemabuhay International.
