Carla Abellana Rise to Stardom

Carla Abellana is Rise to StardomCarla Abellana, real name Carla Angeline Reyes Abellana, is a Filipino commercial model and actor that was born in Manila on June 12, 1986 in the Philippines. Carla's parents are both former filipino actors, her father Rey Abellana more known as PJ Abellana and her mother Rhea Reyes. Her grandmother Delia Razon, the mother of Carla's mother, was also a former famous actor during the 1950's that came from a Filipino Ilongga, Japanese American and German American descent.

She finished her pre-school and high school in Greenhills at O.B. Montessori Center. In College, she graduated as Cum Laude, majoring in Phsychology at De La Salle University in Manila. In her tenure of studying in De La Salle University, she had a romantic five year relationship with then former ADMU basketball star varsity player Jc Intal who now plays in the Philippine Basketball Association. Their relationship soon ended after Carla entered Showbiz.

Carla first appeared on TV as a commercial model, endorsing different products such as "Palmolive", "Jollibee", "Beverly Hills 6750" and etc. Her first appearance as an actor was in GMA Network's Pinoy TV primetime show "Rosalinda" where she played the main character Rosalinda. Originally, she auditioned for one of the three leading lady roles on the primetime TV show "Zorro". Instead, she was given a big break by being casted to play the big lead role in the Mexican Telanovela remake entitled "Rosalinda" which was origanially played by Mexican actor Thalia.

Carla also hosted different GMA TV entertainment shows such as "SOP Rules", "StarStruck V", and her current noontime TV show "Party Pilipinas" that was just launch recently this early 2010. Her first appearance in a movie was playing the character Tiffany in "The Other Man" under Regal films. She then followed it with a couple of more movies under Regal films such as "Ang Nanay Kong Aswang" and her most recent "Mammarazzi" playing as Trixie. She's currently signed by Regal Films with a contract that would give her 12 films to appear in under them.
