Maja Salvador Rise to Fame

Maja Salvador is from a Family of CelebritiesMaja Salvador, real name Maja Ross Andres Salvador, is a Filipino actor also known as the "Dance Princess" that was born in Aparri, Cagayan on October 5, 1988 in the Philippines. Maja came from a great family line of famous celebrities wherein his father Rosauro Salvador more known as Ross Rival, her uncles Jobelle and Philip Salvador and her grand uncle Leroy Salvador are all former great actors in their respective era in Philippines Showbiz.

Maja's great grandfather Lou Salvador on the other hand, is a famous professional basketball player turned actor who also played for the Philippine national basketball team before the prewar, was the first personality from showbiz to run in politics for the vice president candidacy in the 1948 Philippine elections.

Maja grew up in sought of her long lost father that she hadn't seen in many recent years. She started doing ramp modeling on such a young age, together with friend Farah Ramos, the daughter of the famous movie columnist and talent manager. Chit, who knew Maja's longingness for her father, worked out a reunion for her and her father where she was brought to the house of her uncle Ramon Salvador to meet her father. The emotional touching moment reunion with her father that was aired on a Pinoy TV Episode of the Buzz, marked her to be discovered by one of the heads of ABS-CBN and eventually ended up being signed exclusively to ABS-CBN network.

She was first introduced on the TV show "It Might Be You" where she played a supporting role role for the character "Cara Victorino". She then followed it with TV shows such as "Spirits", "Sa Piling Mo", "John en Shirley", "Pangarap Na Bituin", "Kapitan Boom", "May Bukas Pa", "Nagsimula sa Puso" and her latest primetime TV series "Imortal" where she plays the main role. She also appeared for a number of episodes in "Maalaala Mo Kaya", "Komiks", "Nagmamahal Kapamilya", "Your Song", "Love Spell", "Sineserye Presents" and "Precious Hearts Romances Presents". Maja also hosted "ASAP Fanatic" and is currently a regular host in "ASAP".

Her first movie and still considered her breakout role so far was in the blockbuster movie "Sukob" where she was casted among other well respected veteran actors with the likes of Claudine Barretto and Kris Aquino. In the movie "Sukob", she garnered a lot of different nominees and awards from PMPC Star Awards for Movies as "New Movie Actress of the Year", Golden Screen Awards as "Breakthrough Performance by an Actress", PASADO Awards as "Best Supporting Actress Nominee" and in FAMAS Awards as "Best Supporting Actress Nominee". She then succeeded it with movies such as "First Day High", "My Kuya's Wedding", "One More Chance", "Kelly! Kelly!", "Villa Estrella", "Shake Rattle and Roll XI" and her latest movie "Cinco".
